Title: Linac based stereotactic radiosurgery for brain tumors

Speaker: Winston (Ning) Wen, PhD, MBA

Date/Time: Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at 5:00 pm EST

Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) is an effective treatment for brain metastases and other intracranial tumors. Here we will describe clinical consideration, treatment planning strategy and quality assurance of modern, LINAC-based SRS for brain tumors. We will discuss different approaches to treat single or multiple brain metastases with single-isocenter and the impact of target size modeling on the dose calculation accuracy. We will also review detectors used for small field measurement and how to establish a reference film dosimetry protocol for SRS patient specific QA.

Winston (Ning) Wen, PhD, MBA is the Director of Clinical Physics at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit and Adjunct Associate Professor at Wayne State University. His primary clinical interest is in Stereotactic Radiosurgery and Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy.
