Title: Treatment planning system validation with MPPG #5 – The gift that keeps on giving

Speaker: Dustin J. Jacqmin, PhD

Date/Time: Wednesday, March 25th at 12 pm EDT

About the Webinar:

Medical Physics Practice Guideline (MPPG) 5.a provides concise guidance on the commissioning and QA of beam modeling and dose calculation in radiotherapy treatment planning systems. The purpose of this webinar is to discuss the implementation of this practice guideline in the clinic. In the presentation, I will discuss my experience implementing MPPG 5.a at three clinical sites, including the benefits of implementing the guideline and some difficulties I encountered during the implementation process. I will share some of the tangible quality improvements that resulted from implementing MPPG 5.a. Finally, I will discuss data organization and analysis tools that were created to aid in the implementation of MPPG 5.a, and how members of the physics community can access these tools.
